Author Studies

Author studies are a great way to compare many books by the same author.  Books are studied for craft examples: the students notice the craft, talk and think about why the author used it, name the craft, find other books with the same craft, and then use the craft in their writing.  The following are some author sites to visit.  These are authors that are regularly studied in second grade.
