7th Grade Science and

Science and Beyond Curriculum Overview

Through this year of study, the students will investigate science concepts related to the study of the restless Earth, the universe, and the kingdoms of living things.

The students will begin the year with an exploration of  the characteristics of rocks and minerals, the processes involved in formation, and evidence of changes happening within the Earth as evident from volcanoes and earthquakes.

The year will progress to a discovery of the features of the universe,  rocketry, and space exploration.

Within the study of Microorganisms, Fungi, and plants, students will explore characteristics of living things, bacteria, viruses, protists, fungi, and plants.

Continuing the study of living things will transition the students into exploring invertebrates, fishes, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals as well as animal behavior.
