Hortonville Middle School

You will not find homework assignments here!  Please check your students assignment notebook.

Hortonville schools are known for high academic standards.  Research has shown that information reviewed within 24 hours will more likely go into the long-term memory.  Research has shown that use and practice aid in memory retention.  It is for these reasons that we believe homework is a valuable part of education.  The amount of time your child needs to spend on homework depends on his/her learning style and study habits.  I try hard to maintain that most students will average 45-60 minutes of homework per night.

All assignments are counted as one grade in your students grade.  Tests will count as two grades so if they receive a 100 on a test it is counted as two 100 point assignments.  Any test, quiz, daily assignment, or project your student receives a 59% or below on can be corrected and turned back in to me for a better grade.  If I feel when they turn the assignment in they understood the mistakes they made I will give them a 65 % as a grade.  If there are several errors but they passed the assignment I will give them a 60%.  If you have questions about my policy, please contact me.
