TRAINING PROCESS

1. Now that you know what advertising consists of, you will need to learn a little of the history.  Open the short assignment. Then read the excerpt on advertising history.   Complete this word document by switching between the two screens.  Save it to your B-drive. Then, click email instructor, attach the document, and send it to the president of the company.

2. Your next step in training involves learning about various persuasive techniques advertisers use to sell a product.  Advertisers use many different techniques including reputation of the product, the unique features of a product, and the reliability of a product.  Print a copy of the worksheet. Read about the many advertising techniques. Match the technique to the proper definition.

3. Now that you have some idea about various techniques, you are going to analyze various advertisements from a variety of mediums.  Open the chart. Fill in the blanks  for each of the following advertisements: television commercial, and two magazine advertisements (advertisement 1 AND advertisement 2). Save the chart to your B-drive and email the instructor with the document attached.

4. Now you are ready to show what you are made of.  Because our store is called Make a Difference we sell anything that will help the environment or endangered animals.  Your job is to come up with a new product to help the environment or endangered animals.  Once you have a product in mind, you need to figure out how to get others to “buy into” your product. First, find out exactly what marketing techniques will work.  Next, get those creative juices flowing!!! Open a new Word Document and create your own advertisement by following the instructions.

5. Make a hard copy of your advertisement.  On the back, explain the advertising techniques you used, how you used them, and why you chose those techniques.

6. Turn in your first job assignment to your teacher.
