Textbook.  Algebra 1, Glencoe.

Materials Needed: Textbook, Folder, Scientific Calculator, Pencil, and Notebook.

Description.
This course is a continuation of Applied Algebra B course which consist of three units. Successful completion of Applied Algebra B is a must. In fact, students earning less than a B in Applied Algebra B will be hard pressed to succeed in following Applied Algebra C since you would not have sufficiently prepared yourself for the next unit. Topics covered in this class include chapters 7 through 9 of the textbook in varying levels of detail. The class meets 5 times per week.

Objectives
7. Solving Linear Inequalities.
8. Solving Systems of Linear Equations and Inequalities.
9. Exploring Polynomials.

Evaluation.
Evaluation consists of quizzes, exams  and a comprehensive final exam. There will be quizzes , a few labs/ projects, and daily work assignments collected every day or otherwise specified by a teacher.

The quarter grade will be determined by using the following weighted average:

30 %  Daily Work
30%  Quizzes
40% Tests

The semester grade will be determined by using the following weighted average:

45% of the first quarter
45% of the second quarter
10% of the final test

The final exam is a cumulative exam.

66 - 63 D
62 - 60 D-

Incomplete  

This will be followed exactly.

Miscellaneous
Cheating of any kind results in failure of the class and subjects you to school
disciplinary action

No extra credit will be given to individual students.

All assignments are due at the beginning of class on the due date.

You have responsibilities as a student. You must take tests when they are scheduled, turn work in on time, and provide quality work if you expect to receive full credit for an assignment. You should attend class regularly and pay attention while you are in a class as it's not a responsibility of the teacher to cover material multiple times to students skipping classes and not paying attention during class period.
