  ¡Hola padres, madres y estudiantes!

My name is Matthew Craemer and I teach Elementary Spanish at Hortonville Elementary School and Hortonville Middle School, grades 2nd—6th.  This website has been created in hopes that both parents and students will not only practice Spanish together, but will also do so using technology.

Whether reviewing, getting ahead, or just learning on your own, students and parents can learn basic but important phrases, as well as common vocabulary words.

The topics of this website are Introductions, Colors, Numbers and Shapes.  Although you can always come back and click these words, the Navigation bars are easily at your disposal.  Please note the Navigation bars at the top and at the bottom of each page.  They can take you directly to your chosen topic.

All phrases and words have a pronunciation guide using English sounds to help get a close approximation for the pronunciation.  Below is a guide that can help you understand the pronunciation:

VOWEL SOUNDS:

ah   like the ‘a’ in ‘father’             oh   like the ‘oa’ in ‘coat’

ay   like the ‘ay’ in ‘pay’                 oo   like the ‘oo’ in ‘food’

ee   like the ‘ee’ in ‘tree’

When these vowel sounds are not used, common English sounds take its place.  For example...  The number six is seis and is pronounced [SACE].  The word ‘ace’ is commonly known in English.  Put an ‘s’ sound in front of ‘ace’ and you get [SACE].
