GMS School Counselor

Text Box: Ms. Connolly’s Page

For many middle school students, being organized can be a struggle!  The skills for organization that students learn in middle school will carry into high school and beyond.  The following tips and products may be helpful!

All GMS students are issued an assignment notebook on the first day of school.  This is an essential tool!  Students are to write their assignments in daily.

Students in grades 7 and 8 keep all of their supplies in a locker.  There should not be any loose papers in your locker!  Keep books in one spot.

Keep personal belongings at home as they can become a distraction at school.  NEVER give anyone else your locker combination!

Students in grades 5 and 6 keep most of their materials in one desk.  The desks are not big enough to hold much more than books and notebooks!

Every student should have some type of binder system.  Many grades require a plastic expandable folder.  This keeps all your papers in one spot!
